Darlene Lynette Pickney, 52 of Jonesboro, passed away suddenly February 9, 2018 at the St. Bernard’s Medical Center. Born December 12, 1965 in Anaheim, California; daughter of Darrell Pickney and Dr. Linda Heard. She was mentally disabled, but she loved her family and friends, Mickey Mouse, singing, purses, watches and house shoes. She lived most of her life with great care from the Arkansas Human Development Centers. Survivors include her mother, Dr. Linda Heard of Hot Springs; her father, Darrell (Faye) Pickney of Hoxie; three sisters, Michael-Elizabeth Swofford of Fayetteville, Heather (Daniel) Bradway of Jonesboro, Tammy (Russell) Hall of Lake City; five nieces and nephews, Isabel Sabag, Jaxon and Lynnox Bradway, Kelsie and Blake Hall; ten aunts and uncles, Marsha Moore, Joe, Ted, Terry and Bob Heard, Verma Linebaugh, Gilbert, Delbert, Melvin and James Pickney; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be Monday, February 12, 2018 at 2 P.M. in the First Baptist Church in Hoxie with Rev. Steven Farmer officiating; he is the superintendent of the Jonesboro Human Development Center that Darlene has lived at for over thirty years. Pallbearers will be Melvin and James Pickney, Terry McNelly, Daniel Bradway, Ben Moore, Blake and Russell Hall. Interment will follow in the Manning #1 Cemetery near Hoxie. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5 P.M. till 7 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel.
