Dewey Terral Vance

Dewey Terral Vance was born in Cave City, Arkansas, August 11, 1926 and died in Harrison, Arkansas, February 18, 2018. He was a graduate of Egypt High School in 1947 and was a World War II Veteran serving in Okinawa as part of Company C 184th Battalion, 5th Infantry, and Korea Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 31st Infantry. He was discharged in 1946. Dewey married his high school sweetheart, Myrtle Irene Robbins in 1948. Dewey was retired from Arkansas Missouri Power Company which later became part of Entergy. He was a Boy Scout master for many years in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. Dewey was a passionate fisherman and enjoyed hunting, camping, and travel. He attended Oak Hill Church in Sedgewick, Arkansas and Emmanuel Baptist Church in Harrison, Arkansas. Dewey is preceded in death by his father, George Dewey Vance and his mother, Gracie Vance ( Kent ) and a brother, Don Alden Vance. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Irene Vance of the home; and two sons, Robbin Vance and wife Gwendolyn, and Paul Vance and wife Lilly; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 1 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel with Bro. Royce Schanda. Pallbearers will be Hunter and Lee Smith, Johnny Harpol, Robbin Vance, Paul Vance and family. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. till 1 P.M.
