Edward Eugene Lawhon

Edward Eugene Lawhon, 84 of Hoxie, passed away January 13, 2020 in the St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born January 18, 1935 in Sitka; son of the late Alphis and Ester Stalnaker Lawhon, He was united in marriage to Sarah Inman on November 27, 1959. Ed was a Veteran of the U.S. Airforce and worked most of his life as a Carpenter. He was also very active in his community and volunteered as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for many years. He was a faithful Deacon and an Elder at the Hoxie Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Geraldine, Louise and Marie. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Sarah of the home; three daughters, Debora (John C. II) Jenkins of Pocahontas, Diann (Johnny) Dauck of Hoxie and Delinda (John) Duckworth of Walnut Ridge; three grandchildren, John C. III, Joseph and Jeremiah; three great grandchildren, Carlee, Roslyn and Leo; two brothers, Zack (Colleen) Lawhon of Hoxie and T.J. (Valerie) Lawhon of Illinois; one sister, Sue Lane of Jonesboro; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be Friday, January 17, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. in the Hoxie Church of Christ with Bill Willard officiating. Pallbearers will be Audie Waterson, Michael Inman, Tyler Combs, Michael, T.J. and Gary Lawhon. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 P.M. till 8 P.M. at the Hoxie Church of Christ.
