Jonas Leslie Harris

February 23, 1963 - March 4, 2018

Jonas (Joey) Leslie Harris, 55 of Alicia, passed away March 4, 2018 in the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born February 23, 1963 in Jonesboro; son of Rev. David and Mary Forkum Harris. He was united in marriage to Sherry Simmons on November 28, 1980. He was the Pastor of the Grace Apostolic Church in Alicia. He was an over the road truck driver for thirty years. A precious husband, loving father and a marvelous grandfather. He is preceded in death by his father, Rev. David Harris; one brother, David William Harris and a sister, Donna (Harris) Murphy. Survivors include his wife, Sherry Harris of the home; two sons, Jeremy (Kelly) Harris of Jonesboro, Nathaniel (Ronna) Harris of Pocahontas; three grandchildren, Cohen Harris of Jonesboro, Abbey and Gauge Harris both of Pocahontas; his mother, Mary (Steve) Evans of Bono; a sister, Kathy (Rev. Danny) Murphy of Jonesboro; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 8, 2018 in the Faith Tabernacle Church in Hoxie with Rev. Jonathan Nealy, Rev. Dennis Anderson and Rev. Jerry Cochran officiating. Active Pallbearers will be Bryan Jessen, David Ray, John Ring, Richie Foster, Shawn Roberts, Buck Hill, Bill Dickerson and Roy Hudson. Honorary Pallbearers are Clint and Curt Murphy, Corey Harris, Josh Burns, Isreal Shields, Joey Simmons, Josh Hill, Aaron Pugsley and Steven Pierce. Interment will follow in the Markham Cemetery near Egypt. Visitation will be from 12 P.M. till 2 P.M. Thursday at the Church.
