June 8, 1930 - June 24, 2019

Mary Lou Jean, 89 of Walnut Ridge passed away June 24, 2019 at the Lawrence Hall Nursing Center in Walnut Ridge. Born June 8, 1930 in Grubbs; daughter of George and Dovie Gipson Sullens Moore. She was united in marriage to Robert Joseph “Bob” Jean on February 14, 1947. She was first employed as a switch board operator for Southwestern Bell Phone Company in Walnut Ridge; she was a homemaker and loving mother; she was a bookkeeper for periods of time with Williams Baptist College and Farm Service while also maintaining records and helping run her husband’s business, Bob Jean City Service Plumbing. She was also a very active member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Walnut Ridge. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob in 2012; a great granddaughter, Reese Avery Anderson; three sisters, Virl Pratt, Helen Ward and Evelyn Whitmire; and two brothers, Joe and Cecil Ward. Survivors include her two sons, Roger (Sharon) Jean of Hot Springs, Robert (Lana) Jean of Jonesboro; four grandchildren; Stephanie (Rob) Anderson, Adam (Bekah) Jean, Logan Jean and Reagan Jean; four great grandchildren; Tate, Avery, Maddox and Mallie; two sisters, Colleen Anderson of Flint, MI and Linda Madar of Carlisle; two brothers, Willlis Ward of S. Carolina and Ronnie Ward of Norfolk, VA; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 2 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel with Rob Combs and Pastor Mark Maybrey officiating. Pallbearers will be Adam, Logan and Maddox Jean, Rob and Tate Anderson. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1 P.M. till 2 P.M. Sunday
