Reverend Doctor Robert Kerry Bennett, 94 of Walnut Ridge, died December 13, 2021, in the Lawrence Hall Nursing and Rehab. Born July 20, 1927, in Birmingham, AL; son of the late, William Delvin Bennett and Margaret Lusk Bennett. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. Robert was united in marriage to Betty Jean Holtsclaw. He had his Doctorate in Ministry studies and served as the minister of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Walnut Ridge for several decades. He was a man of God, preaching and sharing the gospel all the way into the nursing home to fellow residence. He enjoyed learning and was a life master at the game Bridge. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Betty. Survivors include his three sons, Lee (Freda) Bennett of Paragould; Stephen Bennett of Detroit, MI; and Daniel Bennett; two daughters, Vicky (Bobby) Davis of Walnut Ridge and Becky Bennett of Paragould; eight grandchildren, Jeffery (Chauncey) Hart, Kristian (Mark) Rose, Austin Davis, Danielle (Titan) Miller, Stephen Bennett, Lindsey (Tim) Bowers, Keli (LeAnne) Blanchard, and Will Bennett; and nine great grandchildren. His body was donated to the Genesis Legacy program for medical training and research for the greater good. A Memorial service will be Saturday 11 A.M. in the 1st Presbyterian Church in Walnut Ridge with Rev. John Arnold officiating. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. till service time. Interment of his cremains will take place at a later date in Sterling City, Texas.
