Dwight Dale Evans

Dwight Dale Evans, beloved husband, father, brother, son and great friend to many, passed peacefully from his home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas into the presence of the Lord he loved on June 11, 2024. He was surrounded by family members with which he had a vibrant bond of love. Dwight treasured family and friends, especially his beloved wife Teddy and his children David, Jennifer, and Caleb. The Lord was his Shepherd and he trusted in Him as he journeyed life in this world (Psalm 23). All who journeyed with Dwight knew they were blessed beyond measure to have Dwight as a friend. Anyone facing a battle of any kind would choose him as a battle companion, knowing he would have their back and be all around to support and encourage. In his own battle with alcohol, he came to treasure his sobriety and those who journeyed with him in that battle. Through this community the latent love he always had for his family and friends was renewed in the deep loving relationships that were always treasured. He thanked his Lord for this every day. He always in many ways exuberantly thanked his forever friends, and former neighbors and spiritual guides Gary and Linda Casady and his AA brothers Buzz Umphlet and Bill Howell. He was quick to thank the mothers of his children for their love and support of him and his beloved children. Dwight loved and excelled in any sport in which he engaged. His gifts and skill left many in awe of his meticulous focus and engagement. His God spoke to him in the book of nature and the Word of God. He loved being out in nature, laughing and loving in fellowship with friends and family. He himself was moved by great craftsmanship. He gave of himself and anything he had to anyone and everyone. To be around Dwight was to be encouraged. He is dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed. Dwight is survived by his wife Wilma K. “Teddy” Evans whom he married September 19, 1993. His treasured children are Caleb Scott Evans of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, David Brooks Evans and girlfriend Elizabeth Wing of Richland, Washington, Jennifer Lea Holt and son-in-law David Holt of Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was blessed with wonderful grandchildren, Timothy Evans, Dylan Evans, Sara Evans, Judah Wing, Lilly Holt and Emilea Holt, and many beloved cousins. Dwight served his country honorably in the United States Army as Specialist E5, Ranger, November 1966-November 1969. Memorial service will be Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 2 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel. Visitation will be from 1 P.M. till 2 P.M. Interment of his cremains will be in the Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge.
